Michael Martin, General Manager
For nearly thirty years, Michael Martin has been working in the restaurant industry with a proven track record for customer satisfaction and professionalism in his work.  Michael began his career as a fourteen-year old busboy at "Ricky's Clam House" in the Bronx.  He then switched gears and worked as a Project Manager at an international law firm for four years; it was there he became acutely aware that his true passion was in the service and hospitality industry.  In the spring of 2002, Michael joined The Palm family where he opened The Palm in downtown Los Angeles as a server. It was at that location he was awarded "Server of the Year" in 2003 by the California Restaurant Writers Association.
 
Michael then transitioned into The Palm's management team in the fall of 2004 as an Assistant Manager in Philadelphia and was quickly promoted to Assistant General Manager in the spring of 2005. Michael came full circle in December of that same year when he was promoted to General Manager of The Palm in Orlando, his current position. During his quick ascent/ascension, Michael has embraced The Palm philosophy of providing his guests the ultimate dining experience.  He always strives to exceed his customer's expectations by anticipating their every need.  According to Michael, "the rewards of the job are great but there are none greater then the exuberance of a loyal Palm customer or meeting a 'first timer' who was wowed by their dining experience. 
 
In 2009, Michael was the recipient of The Palm's annual "Gigi Award", an honor reserved for individuals who demonstrate the committment to preserve the old-world hospitality and charm found at the original Palm for the past 80 years, qualities which were demonstrated by the award's namesake, Gigi Delmaestro.
 
Michael's other loves are his wife Candace and and his daughter and son.
