Located right across the street from the flagship restaurant, in 1973 Palm Too was just the third restaurant to open after the original. Initially, it opened to take the overflow from the first Palm, but Palm Too has gained its own loyal following of Palm customers and today its only competition is the original restaurant right across the street.

Janice “Pic” Sheil began her journey in the hospitality industry at the age of thirteen, bussing tables, in her hometown of West Des Moines, Iowa. After making stops in Arizona and Colorado, working with a restaurateur for ten years- she headed southeast- landing in Long Boat Key, Florida. While working for The Poseidon Restaurant, she met Bruce Bozzi, who presented her with the opportunity to travel north and try out a summer at The James Lane Café, in East Hampton, New York. One summer turned into five and at the end of the fifth summer she wanted to pursue something a little less transient. She began working at Palm Too in New York City in 1993 alongside The Palm’s legendary Gus Lusardi- whom she credits for her title of General Manager today.

Gus Lusardi is a traditional Italian from Parma, Italy, with a heavy accent the many regulars have grown to love and rely on. Gus started with the original Palm back in 1970 as an experienced waiter under the second generation of Palm ownership, Bruno Bozzi and Walter Ganzi. In 1973, Palm Too opened across the street from the original Palm; and in 1982, Gus was promoted to General Manager of Palm Too where you can still find him today. Now in the third generation of The Palm, Gus has become the face of Palm Too.

Mary Cullimore, Sales Manager
From planning Henry Kissinger’s parties at Le Cirque 2000 to dashing down the streets of San Francisco with carts full of food for Goldberg Moser O’Neil Advertising, Mary Cullimore has been in the Hospitality Industry since High School. A true professional for the Palm family for the past 4 and a 1/2 years in private dining sales, she has brought a unique and approachable success in her position as sales manager for the Palm/Palm Too Restaurants. In addition to her success at the Palm, Mary has a very competitive edge when it comes to running marathons and ½ marathons. Her best ½ marathon ever was in Philadelphia 2010 at 1 hour and 53 minutes. Her goal is to run the More ½ marathon in Central Park in April 2011 at 1 hour and 50 minutes. WOW and with all this in mind she has time to make the best cookies and biscotti’s for friends and family. Mary holds a BS in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Johnson & Wales in Providence, Rhode Island. Mary Cullimore attributes her recipe for success with a lot of creativity, a good measure of understanding the guest's needs, a little negotiation, and a generous helping of graciousness resulting in many more successful years at the Palm.
